The new Amway Center is scheduled to open on October 1st and with the plentiful parking spaces, it is going to be a better experience getting in and out of the area in comparison to the old arena.
An 8 level parking deck which was just completed last week is close-by, adjacent to the Amway Center and has 1,876 spaces for $20.00 each. There are plenty of other less expensive parking spaces nearby in parking lots and garages within a 5 or 10 minute walk for $10.00.
The $480 million building itself features a plethora of bars and restaurants, and it's minutes from an even larger collection of entertainment options. Orlando planners figure that will translate into fewer traffic jams because fans will have lots more to do before and after the event.
Along with improvements that are hard to see, such as underground utilities, sewer lines and better drainage, the city is installing street lighting, planting live oak and palm trees and widening sidewalks. A sound system on the streets will let people hear whats going on inside the Amway Center. Adding to the ambience will be a light show reflecting different colors and shapes off the pillars and walls beneath the interstate.
