The single most largest development in Central Florida is to revamp 21 miles of Interstate 4 roadways. The project involves beautifying, rebuilding and adding tolled express lanes between Kirkman Road in Orange County and State Road 434 in Seminole County begins in March of 2015. This project will create thousands of temporary jobs in the local construction industry as well ask make our commute easier. The project is set to be completed in late 2021. There are four segments which the project will be divided into: Area 1 the attraction areas, Area 2 is downtown, Area 3 is Ivanhoe, and Area 4 is Altamonte area. This new, exciting project will reconstruct 15 major interchanges, including State Road 408, widen 13 bridges, add 53 new bridges and replace 74 bridges. Four tolled express lanes will be added in the median, and the transportation department will set the toll rates and retain revenues. The tolls will begin in 2020. The SunRail of Central Florida a commuter rail will be able to handle a large rush of commuters who ay elect to ride and avoid the construction. SunRail has planned to add a third passenger car to facilitate this endeavor.
